Choosing the right eyelash extension adhesive for your full sets can be a challenge for any Lash Artist but if you’re new to your game or are overwhelmed with the choices of lash extension glues and adhesives you are not alone.
Selecting your perfect adhesive is never perfect. So many factors are involved in choosing which ones to use, and selecting the wrong one will leave you and your clients disappointed and frustrated. At my last count I’ve tried over 10 different lash glues, and I can’t tell you the differences between most of them…either they perform…or they didn’t.
I’ll share what I’ve learned in my lash extension adhesive journey, my faves and the ones that were tossed for the circular file!
The Ones I Chucked!
{disclaimer: this doesn’t mean these lash extension glues are no good…it just means I didn’t have success with them. They could be perfect for you, they just were not for me.}
1. Ulbon by Blink
— by far my absolute least favorite. The retention on this lash glue was to be desired, every client I used this on came back within days needing a fill/fix. I tried it on several clients, still with similar results. Not one I would recommend.
2. Lash Tite Adhesive
This gem was my first lash extension glue I used after I decided…I’m going to give this lash thing a try. Admittedly before I was properly trained and before I knew any better. Wow this stuff should be labeled. “Warning…lash extensions will fall off in a matter of hours” This glue didn’t even make it through the night for my lash guinea…she said she woke up the next morning and it looked like it had rained lashes…ah…ode to my first set. Looking back I should have known this had ‘Bad Idea’ written all over it. I even found a website that sells this stuff, and they were kind enough to include a quick little blurb on application. So very nice of them…If you’d like to read this travesty CLICK H ERE... Yikes right…?!! Anywaaay….needless to say this stuff isn’t good. I’m not sure what else to say…Enough said!
Now On To My Faves
Now fast forward to several years later and that brings me to my faves so far. I have to note here that due to my former career life I’m a troubleshooter by nature and trying new ways to get things done efficiently, cost effectively and with the least amount of resistence is in m blood. So with that being said, this list is not by far definitive…’new’ lash adhesives come to the market all the time. These are just my faves so far. I generally like to try new ones every few weeks or so and document my results via lash retention and client circumstances.
If you have any feedback on some of your favorites please by all means share them…I’d love to hear your experience!
1. Sky Glue
My favorite lash adhesive and lash glue mixer. This stuff is amazing. Perfect viscosity, great retention and jet black glossy finish. I believe this is one of the glues that is popular in the UK, and this is how I found it. My only con…which isn’t really a con, is that almost on the dot of about 6-7 weeks…the potency began to degrade. Which is only a pain in the butt because if you’re like me, time flies when you’re working. And before I knew it, it had been 2 months…and my best retention clients were saying they were losing lashes more than usual. Oops…guess that taught me. *insert Kanye shrug* Another great point to make is you can cop a couple bottles of this glue for less than $30. so replacing it every 6-8 weeks is no biggie.

2. Borbeleta Volume Glue

Another great glue to use especially if you’re quick with lash placement and isolation. This glue will certainly help you cut down your application times, if you have your set up and lash station on spont! The fumes for this glue are next to nil, and viscosity is nice and thin. This glue works best if you follow their shared instructions and from my personal experience mixing it with another mixer glue. I mixed it with my Sky glue for great results.
3. Lash Affair by J. Paris – True Love

I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful package of Lash Affair by J. Paris goodies sent to me to try out a week or so ago. I started using this lash glue this week 4/6/15. And I really do like it. Viscosity is also great, with no fumes that I could sense. I will have better retention notes later on, but so far so good.**This package arrived lightning fast too…always a plus when you need your lash fix quick and in a hurry** Also as a side note: Their lashes actually worked the best with their glue, so if you’re OCD and need to have matching lashes and glue, their lashes worked best together with their True Love glue!
4. Glad Lash Ultimate Plus
Upcoming to try. This one I just got this week, I’m still testing out my Lash Affair and Beauty Call this week, so I don’t any immediate feedback yet. But I listed it because I’ve had great success with Glad Lash adhesives in the past. They have great customer service and quick ship times too. It’s worth mentioning because I sometimes wait too long to order supplies and then need them yesterday!
What about You? What are your favorite lash extension glue? Have you found your must have or go to? Do you stick with one, and keep re-purchasing because it’s that fabulous? I’d love to hear about that!

It's a time consuming ritual that thousands and thousands of beauties are sick of doing. So in comes Microblading a semi-permanent savior of a technique. Delivering a beautifully natural and realistic looking set of eyebrows that provide easier mornings, no worries at the beach or in the shower. It truly is a life-changing service that once mastered can be equally rewarding for you as the artist and for your clients.
But getting started is different in every state and regulations are changing and shifting constantly to further create a solid set of rules for those looking to get started. Some require a license, while others do not. Best idea is to start with who regulates the tattoo industry in your state or country. From there you should be able to find the answers you need to kick your Microblading artist career off.
But sometimes overlooked is your personal inventory of skills, mindset and passion. Offering Microblading takes intense hand and eye coordination, a knack for artistry of the face, patience and an understanding of how the eyebrows play such an important role on everyone's face. I always like to say that one hair or stroke can make or break a set of brows. Without believing this truth...you may find that this field isn't for you.
Next are you ready for the business side of things? If you're considering striking it out on your own, you better be ready to wear 10 different hats...and juggle them in the air. You have to be the artist, the janitor, the marketer, the accountant, the legal, the designer, and then some. Running any business alone is never easy, but running a beauty business poses its own set of challenges. Not only do you have to be an artist you have to be a whip at getting new clients to you. And unfortunately many microblading trainers out there today have no idea how to do this. They may be amazing brow artists and instructors...but have no clue beyond Facebook and business cards to grow your new business. So you are then in a position of having a beautiful new skill you wanna share with the world...but no one to share it with.
So by now you may be over the moon excited to get started...or having second thoughts. Both of which are totally normal. But if you're having second thoughts, maybe sit down and take inventory on what is creating the doubt. Is it the investment in training, or the business side of it all?
Or if you're ready to jump in head first...you're next steps are finding out your local regulations, seeking a reputable Microblading trainer or educator, and mapping out your business goals to get started.
Lucky for you, I'm not only an Online Visibility Specialist for Microblading, Lash Artists and Beauty Pros...I also educate and train stylists on the art of skills to do the service, and how to bring them new clients. I have the online marketing background... AND...I provide these services in my business still today. I can totally relate to your challenges, your questions and come right along side of you and guide you towards a Microblading career or business you're in love with.
