When you’re first starting out fresh with training on your brain and hustle in your veins it may be frustrating that getting those first few clients has become somewhat of a challenge. It doesn’t have to be but unfortunately most training will only skim the surface of this vital part of your lash and brow business. No longer can you set out with only a Facebook page and business cards and expect to grow an instant following for your new business. People want to know what you do, and what’s in it for them and they want proof of it. But of course…when you’re new…you don’t exactly have a lot of proof. So what’s a hustler to do…You guessed it. Hustle & Grind…you’ll hear me say this often only because it should never be thought of as easy. You’ll need to work for it and get out of your comfort zone and make business for yourself.
So with that, here’s a list of how to get your first 10 Lash Clients…so you’ll know how to get your next 10 too.
- What Do You Offer? What Do You Want the Most Clients For?
Define your offerings in one two or 3 words. Flawless eyelash extensions, or beautifully built eyebrows. You should also be able to tell what you’re offering in a few easy words.
It’s best to be honest in these beginnings but ideally when you’re telling people what you’re doing, try those close to you first.
It’s much easier to get your feet wet with friends and family who are rooting for you, and want to see you and your business succeed.
So, clearly define what you offer and then ask those close to you if you can serve them with it. - Referral Reward System

New Client
Found Me On GoogleNow building on those first few clients give them a great reason to start telling others about what you’re doing.
Have some easy referral cards or flyers made up and tell you new clients that you’re looking to grow you business
and it would be so helpful to you if they could share your services with those they know. As an incentive, make sure
you give generously for sending people your way and then give those new clients coming a good reason to check you out.
I like to offer a percentage off for my ‘regular’ clients and a dollar amount off for my referrals. Just be sure you know exactly
how much you’re discounting when you do percentages off. A high dollar service like microblading with 15% off can eat away
at your bottom line. - Always Look for Creative Ways to Market You and Your Business
This may seem as a no brainer but we have to remember to constantly be on our hustle game. Wherever you are there are opportunities to share what you do
and possible gain a new lash or brow client. **Here’s a fun one** …hardly ever used tactic. It’s bold…but will certainly get attention. Head to your local dollar store. Grab 10 balloons
attach your business card, and a sweet treat to the end of it. Hand it to beautiful strangers…give them a compliment and then tell them you’d love to be their lash or brow girl! - Go Where You Client Is
Again, sometimes you gotta go and be where your potential clients are. Having new clients calling you, or deposited on your online booking system is wonderful
but until this is happening every week we gotta go out and be where our clients are. So where do Your shop…where do they buy their coffee…or grab a cheat treat? You should be there too. Head out and befriend the managers at these spots…give them a deeply discounted set of lashes or brow service. Then in exchange they can chat your services us with those potential clients that ask about their pretty lashes! Is your potential client an Abercrombie & Fitch girl…go there. Is she a local coffee spot girl….go there! Just get out there! - Be a Lash Beacon
What do I mean by be a beacon? I mean what is it that makes your lash business special…or worthy of their money? Do you offer complimentary hand anti aging treatments? Do you offer a deluxe aftercare kit with every full set? If you have something that makes your lash extension business amazing…be sure to put that in the spotlight. Especially when attracting your first 10 clients. If you have a beautifully generous referral rewards program…tell them about it. Anything that you can include to make your lashes a step above the norm…do it. Not only does this make you stand out…it gives you that extra little something that not everyone will have.
So there you have it, some excellent tips on how to get your first 10 lash extension clients. Remember the key to growing your business is visibility…without visibility you’re invisible…and we don’t want this for our lash business. Get out there, get visible and grow your lash extensions business!

It's a time consuming ritual that thousands and thousands of beauties are sick of doing. So in comes Microblading a semi-permanent savior of a technique. Delivering a beautifully natural and realistic looking set of eyebrows that provide easier mornings, no worries at the beach or in the shower. It truly is a life-changing service that once mastered can be equally rewarding for you as the artist and for your clients.
But getting started is different in every state and regulations are changing and shifting constantly to further create a solid set of rules for those looking to get started. Some require a license, while others do not. Best idea is to start with who regulates the tattoo industry in your state or country. From there you should be able to find the answers you need to kick your Microblading artist career off.
But sometimes overlooked is your personal inventory of skills, mindset and passion. Offering Microblading takes intense hand and eye coordination, a knack for artistry of the face, patience and an understanding of how the eyebrows play such an important role on everyone's face. I always like to say that one hair or stroke can make or break a set of brows. Without believing this truth...you may find that this field isn't for you.
Next are you ready for the business side of things? If you're considering striking it out on your own, you better be ready to wear 10 different hats...and juggle them in the air. You have to be the artist, the janitor, the marketer, the accountant, the legal, the designer, and then some. Running any business alone is never easy, but running a beauty business poses its own set of challenges. Not only do you have to be an artist you have to be a whip at getting new clients to you. And unfortunately many microblading trainers out there today have no idea how to do this. They may be amazing brow artists and instructors...but have no clue beyond Facebook and business cards to grow your new business. So you are then in a position of having a beautiful new skill you wanna share with the world...but no one to share it with.
So by now you may be over the moon excited to get started...or having second thoughts. Both of which are totally normal. But if you're having second thoughts, maybe sit down and take inventory on what is creating the doubt. Is it the investment in training, or the business side of it all?
Or if you're ready to jump in head first...you're next steps are finding out your local regulations, seeking a reputable Microblading trainer or educator, and mapping out your business goals to get started.
Lucky for you, I'm not only an Online Visibility Specialist for Microblading, Lash Artists and Beauty Pros...I also educate and train stylists on the art of skills to do the service, and how to bring them new clients. I have the online marketing background... AND...I provide these services in my business still today. I can totally relate to your challenges, your questions and come right along side of you and guide you towards a Microblading career or business you're in love with.
